Thalovant Acceptable Use Policy

1. Illegal and harmful activity

You must not use Thalovant to:

1. break any law that applies to you, to us or to the people affected;
2. create, share or seek child sexual abuse material, or groom, exploit or sexualise minors in any way;
3. threaten, harass, bully, stalk or intimidate anyone, or incite violence or hatred against people because of a protected characteristic;
4. promote, plan or glorify terrorism, violent extremism or serious violence;
5. obtain or provide instructions for making weapons capable of mass harm (biological, chemical, nuclear or radiological), or for attacking critical infrastructure;
6. encourage or give instructions for suicide, self-harm or eating disorders (the AI & Safety page lists crisis lines);
7. sell or promote illegal goods or services, or facilitate fraud, scams or money laundering; or
8. infringe intellectual property, privacy or other rights of others.

2. Recording, surveillance and consent

You must not use Thalovant to:

1. record, listen to, transcribe or monitor people without the notice and consent the law requires, or covertly;
2. place a listening hub where people have a reasonable expectation of privacy (for example washrooms, changing rooms or bedrooms of other people) or in rooms where confidential care or advice is given, unless the hub activates only through a deliberate action and the law allows it;
3. monitor employees, tenants, students or other people beyond what the law in your place allows;
4. identify, track or profile people by their voice, or try to build speaker identification, voiceprints or other biometric identification on top of Thalovant; or
5. collect sensitive information about people (such as health, sexual orientation, religion or political opinions) through a hub without a lawful basis and appropriate safeguards.

Organisations running hubs in physical places must also follow the signage and consent rules in section 8 of the Business Terms.

3. Children

1. Accounts are for adults. Do not let a child create or use an account; use a kid-labelled hub or a Family kids' profile instead.
2. Do not use a kid-labelled hub or kids' profile to collect personal information from children, to advertise to them, or to expose them to content unsuitable for their age.
3. Do not label a hub as suitable for children unless it meets the rules for kid-labelled hubs in the Publisher Terms.

4. Deception and impersonation

You must not use Thalovant to:

1. pretend that a hub is a human, or deny that it is an AI when someone sincerely asks;
2. impersonate a real person or organisation, including by imitating their voice, name or branding, or create synthetic audio of a real person without their consent;
3. publish a public hub or skill with a misleading name, description or purpose;
4. generate or spread disinformation intended to deceive voters or interfere with elections or public health; or
5. send spam, robocalls or unsolicited commercial messages, or messages that do not meet anti-spam laws such as Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation.

5. High-risk reliance

AI output can be wrong. You must not:

1. rely on Thalovant for medical diagnosis or treatment, legal advice, financial advice, or any decision where a mistake could cause serious harm;
2. use Thalovant as an emergency service, a medical alert system, or the only means of calling for help;
3. use Thalovant to control safety-critical systems, such as medical devices, vehicles, industrial machinery or critical infrastructure; or
4. use Thalovant to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on people (for example about employment, credit, housing, insurance, education or access to public services) without meaningful human review.

6. Security and service integrity

You must not:

1. access or try to access accounts, hubs, data or systems you are not authorised to use;
2. probe, scan or test the vulnerability of Thalovant or its users without our written permission (report vulnerabilities to security@thalovant.com);
3. introduce malware, or interfere with or disrupt the Services, other users or networks;
4. get around rate limits, usage limits, access controls, content filters or our review of public hubs and skills;
5. share or sell API tokens or accounts, or resell access to the Services without our written agreement; or
6. scrape the Services or use them to build a competing product in breach of our terms.

7. Media and content licences

1. Do not use Thalovant to play or distribute content you have no right to play, including by circumventing the absence of YouTube, YouTube Music, Spotify, SoundCloud or Bandcamp skills from the store.
2. Businesses must hold the public-performance licences needed to play music or media in their places, as described in the Business Terms.

8. Home-line use

Home-line plans (Free, Home and Family) are for personal and household use. Do not use them to run an assistant for a business, venue or public place.

9. Enforcement and reporting

9.1 What we do. If you break this policy, we may remove content, disable a hub, skill or token, suspend or close your account, and report illegal activity to the authorities where required or appropriate. We act in proportion to the seriousness of the breach and, where reasonable, warn you first.

9.2 Reasons and review. We tell you what we did and why, unless the law forbids it or telling you would compromise safety or an investigation. You can ask for a review at support@thalovant.com.

9.3 Reporting. Report abuse, unlawful content or a hub that breaks this policy to support@thalovant.com. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.
